Cash For Laptops basically STOLE my IPad

I sent my IPad2 to Cash For Laptops as they quoted me $173...a perfectly mint condition IPad2 in original box with power cord on 3/13. On 3/19 I got an email from "Brian" that they received my IPad and that "Your device will be inspected by one of our expert technicians to determine its final value. Please watch for the inspection complete email soon." I hear nothing from them, so on 3/23 I email them and ask for any updates as surely they've looked at it by now and I get a response email that again they have "received my device will be inspected by one of our expert technicians to determine its final value. Please watch for the inspection complete email soon." Shortly after that email I get another one from "Peter" with Good News: After carefully inspecting your device by hand, seeing its condition, and following up-to-the-minute market conditions—you’re owed $24 for the device. WHAT!? Are you kidding me?.... I email them again and tell them that I do not accept their offer of a pissy $24 and want them to send me my IPad back immediately. On 3/24 I email them AGAIN and demand them send me my IPad back and that I do not accept their offer. To which I get a response from "Denise" .... "I’m sorry that you’re not happy with the offer you received for your device. We want to make sure you become a satisfied customer and so I would like to direct you to our Purchasing department so they can better assist you with this situation." Of course it's after their hours stated for me to call them right then and there so I send them yet another email that I do not accept their offer and want them to send me my IPad back now! On 3/26 I email them yet again to send me back my IPad and also try and call them to which I get placed on hold...actually on forget....hang up, call again and get recorded high volume of calls please call back run around. I then receive and email from them that day stating "Thank you for your email. I understand you would like to have your device returned. All returns must be requested over the phone with our purchasing department not through emails. Please contact our Purchasing department at 888-821-****. Mon-Fri 6am-4PM".....And of course, I get this after their hours for calls has past! 3/27... I call and get the run around again, left on hold (forget) and when I do get a person and I am quite angry at this point I keep getting cut off by them and every time I tell them to just send me back my IPad I get told to not cut HER off and that I'll be put on hold...again, she tries to read me some BS line about calling to request my IPAd back and then when I tell her that's what I'm doing she gets curt again and says she'll transfer me to someone who can help me...which she doesn't, and I have to call them back AGAIN! I call them 5 times before I actually get to someone who actually acts as if they know whats going on and is there to "help" just to be told that I called them TOO LATE and that my IPad was already recycled and that per the contract I agreed to when I sent my IPad to them I had 3 days to tell them By Phone ONLY after receiving my quote that I wanted my IPad back..... ARE YOU F**#@!NG Kidding Me right now!?!? The girl on the phone then says the best she can do is give me $50 for my IPad and nothing more to which I try and demand my IPad back again and said that if she didn't that I'd go on every media outlet to let everyone know their company is a bunch of thieves to which she then says well, then I can't give you $50 and only the original $24 and hang up.... WTH...to which I reply (as clearly they have stolen my IPad and I'm not getting it back) give me the $50 and I'll just drop it, to which she agreed. I never clarified what I would drop....so I do not care if they see this and I will make sure SO MANY more people do as well!!

Cash for laptops.com – they will quote you one thing and give you something totally different.

Sold my iPhone device for a quote of $265 and received $125 instead. Cash for laptops.com makes you believe that people have, in fact, received adequate money for their devices, just to lure you in. They took a really long time to go through my device, and then just credited $125 into my account. They never sent me an email asking me if I accepted this amount. In the end it doesn’t matter because had they asked me if I accepted the amount, my answer clearly would’ve been “no.” The trick would’ve been to get my answer across because I did try that! Emailing them back did not work, neither did calling them. I was put on hold for the first 45 minutes, then the person I talked to, told me that they had already sent my phone to get it refurbished. This was her reasoning behind why she couldn’t help me with getting it returned. I wish I knew about this before, I just want my device back!

Cashforlaptops quoted me $250, but I received $50 only

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I was quoted $250 for my perfect I phone 5. I received my cheque today for just $90. It was an I phone which was in perfect condition. I can't even begin to comprehend how easily I was cheated out of my phone and money. Please don't use cash for laptops.com. Their quotes are higher than some other websites and I was under the impression that I would get somewhere near that quoted amount. What a surprise I got when I received the check and discovered the amount was nowhere near what was quoted. Honestly, I don't think I have any alternative at this point in time since they have already sent me the cheque. Please be wary of this company.

Cash for laptops.com basically just took my device for pennies!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
www.cashforlaptops.com quoted me "upto" $253 for my phone. It was mint, only 3mths old, in case whole time, and no wear or scuffs at all. I know this because I looked at it thoroughly before checking the quote online. When cash for laptops received my phone, they said it was only worth $95. What confuses me is that they said the phone was in a “fairly good condition”. That’s a pretty petty amount to pay for any phone that is still working and in a “fairly good condition”. I called to have it returned, but they said they couldn't as it was already processed and the check sent out. I even asked to speak with a manager, but they refused. What a bad customer service! All of this after going through the long hold times to even speak to someone!!

I feel *** for dealing with cash for laptops.com

Do not do business with cash for laptops.com because you will feel *** like I do right now. I was sucked in by the promise that my IPhone 4s would fetch me $165 dollars. They sent me a box with a shipping label on it, and I mailed in my phone. It was absolutely perfect. No nicks, scratches, dents, or anything else to run down its value. I received a notice from PayPal that I had received $90 in settlement for my phone as the total payment. I had to rub my eyes because I couldn't believe this amount. Calling them was useless as well because I wasted more time staying on hold (over 35 minutes), than I did trying to convince cashforlaptops to send my phone back. Don't let yourself feel like I now do. You owe it to yourself to forget your greed and allow other places to steal your phone fair and square.

I do not recommend cash for laptops.com for selling Iphones

Do not use cash for laptops.com! I was quoted a price of $320 for an Iphone 5s 64gb. I was initially very happy with the cited price as it looked quite reasonable. I was shocked when they paid me only $200 for it. My phone was in very good condition and was working fine. Are you kidding me $200 for that phone? I checked reviews for Cashforlaptops.com and found other users had same problem. Stay away from them! They are good at misguiding innocent people. I will suggest all my friends to be extra careful while dealing with them.

If I could rate a zero for cashforlaptops, I would!!!!!

This company is the biggest scam I have ever seen. I got an online quote of $200 for my Iphone 5. When the company inspected my phone, they offered me $50.00. I called and asked to have my phone returned, and the lady says, "oh, I see your phone is worth more than $50.00, we will offer you $90.00". If I had not called to have the phone returned, it is a stipulation of the contract that I have accepted their initial offer of $50.00. Although my phone is still worth a lot more than their second offer, I am happy to get the extra $40.00 after wasting 40 minutes, or so, just staying on hold to speak to someone. It is evident that they intentionally give you the lowest possible quote to try and scam you. Not an honorable company, I would NEVER do any type of business with these people EVER!!!!!!!!

Cash for laptops.com HP laptop scam!!!

I initiated the quote for my used HP laptop, and got an online quote for $250.I shipped my laptop using the shipment box provided by them. Later, I received an email from them saying that the item was about to be inspected and that I will receive the amount upon inspection. After a week, I received the payment in the amount of $110 through PayPal instead of $250.I rejected the offer and refunded the amount on the same day through PayPal. Requested them to ship my laptop through their website email account, but they did not respond. That was so irritating. They finally called me back and then told me the laptop was already processed and they could not give it back to me. They lied that the laptop was damaged. The laptop was in perfect condition when it was sent. DO NOT USE cash for laptops.com. I wish you all good luck!

Annoyed with the service of Cash for laptops.com

Cash for laptops.com is a complete scam. They have a strategy for attracting new clients. They bait you in with a good market price for your device and then, soon after you send in your Smartphone, they send you a check for a fraction of the quote. The terms say you have 3 days to dispute, but it takes long time to get hold of them. I also dropped numerous emails but got no helpful response from them. Use anything else, but cashforlaptops.com. I would not use them in future, neither would I recommend it to anyone. Be cautious!

Please run away from cashforlaptops.com!!!

I sent cash for laptops.com an immaculate Samsung Galaxy S4 with the promise of getting about $160.00. Finally, they sent me a check for $73.00, which I never cashed, for obvious reasons. I tried to get them to return my phone, but all I could get was an answering machine if I was lucky enough to survive their hour long hold time. So they played the game that I could not get my phone back until I talked to someone there. I never did get an opportunity to talk to anyone! Please stay away from these people.

Unfair evaluation of my Iphone by cash for laptops.com

Cash for laptops.com quoted $130 for a 100% working iphone 4s, no broken glass at all. My daughter sent it in, and a week later, I received $75 in my paypal account. They did not send me an offer (like they promised). They won’t reply to my emails, or return my calls. When I decided to call them, I had to stay on hold for half an hour. I told them, “Fine! If it is only worth $75, I would like to have my device back.” They refused and said they were following the contract I signed. Seriously, just avoid these extremely ignorant people.

Cash for laptops.com screwed me over

I sent my laptop to cash for laptops.com.It was quoted at $99.The laptop worked well; however, there was an issue with the charging port so I decided to sell it. When I got my check -which took almost a month- it was for $34. I was so angry that I called the customer service, which took OVER an hour, after which they proceeded to hang up on me forcing me to start over. They did not send me an updated quote. They don't return emails, and it takes long time to get to them. Cashforlaptops is bad and misleads people. Be careful in dealing with them, don't trust them.

SCAM for Stealing Your Computer

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had a horrible experience with CashForLaptops and was quoted $970 for my Computer. I received a check in the mail for only $70! I have called 7 times and each time I am on hold for at least 30 minutes and then am disconnected. They advertise as a way to sell your used computer or cell phone and quote you generous prices that they will pay you for your product. They mail you a box in the mail to send it out immediately. As soon as you send it in, you receive a notification that your money is on its way. They then send you a ridiculously low check and are completely unreachable.

Stay away from cashforlaptops.com

The company I dealt with online calls itself cashforlaptops.com. They are located in Nevada, use several addresses there in different cities, and their real name is Laptop & Desktop Repair, LLC. I used their online site to get a quote on selling my used laptop. I answered their screening questions honestly: the laptop was 3.5 years old and would not boot. (In fact, I answered more than honestly because there was no place to tell them the weird way in which it could be booted.) The screening program had me wait while it calculated their offer on that information. It offered $164

I got nearly one email per day after that reminding me to look for the shipping box and be sure to send the laptop quickly to get my cash. I got one final e-mail saying they'd received the laptop and would get back to me in 5 days with their final offer. After that, I never heard from them, even after I e-mailed back asking the status.

I looked up their 800 number and called them. The guy on the phone claimed they'd been calling me for days"”a complete lie"”my cell phone never rang and there were no messages there or at home. Then he said there were "scratches" on the laptop and it was only worth $60. More lies! Scratches worth $104?! The case had the small marks you would expect on a USED laptop, which is what they were supposed to be buying! I was so taken aback, I just said, Send me the $60.

Later I was irritated at being scammed, looked up internet reviews, and saw other similar complaints against them. They had no BBB rating so I filed a BBB complaint on the above facts. Their rebuttal was that the offer of $164 was for a "pristine" laptop, that I could have asked them to send it back at their expense (they never offered this, and I admit that I wasn't smart enough to ask), and now they were the legal owners of the laptop, period. What their website says is: "Sell your Laptop for Cash! Our concept is simple. Working or not, sell your used and previously owned laptop and notebook computers." It doesn't say" "Sell us your pristine laptop that shows no external sign of ever having been used."

So, they successfully scammed me, but I hope you read this before they scam you. They got a lot of valuable laptop parts (memory, screen, keyboard, etc.) worth a great deal more than $60. And I got an object lesson about looking up internet reviews and BBB ratings BEFORE dealing with a company I've never heard about before.

Sorry to hear your story! I want people to know that cashforlaptops is trying to buy endorsements.

A few days ago I got an e-mail from them about entering a contest (I can't remember what the prize is, but it was something very attractive, like an iPad. If they choose your name, all you have to do to collect the prize is write a review about how much you love cashforlaptops.

I deleted the e-mail, of course. I wonder if anyone will ever collect a prize from them.

Guest

Man I perfectly understand you. Just got ripped off of 67 bucks.

They offered me USD 117 for my old HP laptop. They never called me. It was me who had to call them.

After two 15 minutes long calls I was "transfered" to guy who informed me that the laptop had some scratches.

The final price offered by him was USD 50. Nice work cashforlaptops, now I know where you make your money so fast!
